COLLABORATIONS with Malin Kämpe
I have had a project to fill the restaurant "Koch" in Uddevalla, Kochska Gränden 2, with my art. I have painted 15 new originals with inspiration from Uddevalla - city, flora and fauna, and created 23 new Fine Art Prints in three different sizes - all printed in a VERY small and exclusive edition which you can read more about if you click on the button below .
RESTAURANT KOCH
When painting the series of new originals I was visiting the city several times during this spring and summer looking for inspiration. As I am a person who loves flora and fauna it came very natural for me to wander the citys streets (with all it's beautiful plantations) and gardens. I visited Margretegärdeparken where we have the lovely "Flickan med Flätan" which is a statue surrounded by an ocean of flowers. I also visited Kochska Gränden reading about the three Copper Beech that was planted there in memory all those who lost their home in the large city fire 1806. In the city square there are several trees blooming in the spring, at Bäveån the Mallard's are swimming, inspiration is endless...
Searching the web about Uddevalla I learned that the area around the municipality is very favourable breeding ground for Ravens. The city even has a nickname connected to the Raven or "Korp", "Kôrpehôla".
Last but not least I added some motifs that was from outside the city too, representing the area, like blackberry, hogweed and honeysuckle which is very common plants in Bohuslän.
In the gallery below you can see what I have painted for the restaurant.
